The AR experiences I am about to share rely on murals as essential components, serving as the tracking setup for the AR technology. Essentially, the mural acts as an anchor, allowing AR elements to be accurately placed and maintained within a physical space.

In a past mural AR project for an indoor playground client, we addressed their need to freshen up the business and attract a higher recurring customer rate without the option for physical expansion due to space limitations. Our solution was to not only redesign their murals but also to introduce AR mini-games to diversify their offerings. For example, AR bat shooting mini game as below. To keep the experience fresh and engaging, the game randomly alters the locations of the bats each time it is restarted.

For example, we also transformed the indoor playground space into a a virtual mini zoo, where 3D animals—complete with sounds and movements—were strategically placed around the space.

This customization not only aligns better with the mural’s design but also enhances the company’s branding. For example, our mural AR project with Aeon Melaka x MAMEE Monster, we developed a feeding game that features Mamee Monster products as well as the MAMEE Monster mascot itself. By interacting with the mascot in a virtual space, customers formed a deeper connection with the brand, which is crucial for enduring marketing success.
